Adrian Baranyi

Head of Campus: Mapoon

If you visit the Western Cape College Mapoon Campus you may find the Head of Campus Adrian Baranyi teaching a class, helping around the grounds or driving the school bus.

Adrian first joined the Western Cape College team in January 2007 as a Year 4 Teacher and before making the step to Head of Campus in April 2008.

Being passionate about Indigenous education helps Adrian achieve his goals to help improve student outcomes, increase attendance and develop stronger links with the Mapoon community to help disengaged students back to school.

Along with a Bachelor of Primary Education, Adrian also has a Bachelor of Psychology and is a fully qualified chef who has worked in some of Queensland’s five star hotels.

Adrian is also a member of the Queensland Principals Association and the Indigenous Alliance Member and enjoys making the most of the spectacular scenery around Mapoon by regularly going camping and fishing.
