Elizabeth Mackie

Head of Campus: Aurukun

Elizabeth (Liz) Mackie, commenced at Western Cape College in 2004 as a Transition Support Officer based at the Weipa Campus before joining the Aurukun Campus Team in 2007 as the Deputy Head of Campus. Liz then made the step to Head of Campus at the beginning of the 2008 School Year.

As the Head of Campus, Liz aims to lead teaching and learning by developing the most supportive and appropriate learning environment for the students who are enrolled at WCC Aurukun Campus.

Working at the Aurukun Campus provides Liz with a stimulating working environment and intrinsic rewards through challenges, creative solutions, relationships and hard work.

Liz aims to continue to improve relationships with the community and students as well as build staff confidence in the school and its capacity as a facilitator of learning and its connection to positive, creative and independent futures.

Working in the education arena inspires Liz with the can-do attitude, positive cutting edge ideas and the implementation of strategic thinking initiatives.

With formal qualification in Education, Finance and Workplace Training and Assessment, Liz has interests in Corporate Governance and Ethics and enjoys singing and playing the flute in her spare time.
