AURUKUN TRANSITION STRATEGY

The driver to deliver ABC and the Service Guarantee

Congratulations to Leona Yunkaporta from Aurukun who graduated Year 12 on November 17, 2006.

Leona is beginning her first year at Griffith University in Brisbane studying a four year teaching degree, after completing a 12 month traineeship with Rio Tinto in Brisbane and 12 months working in community.

Congratulations to Miles Kerindun who graduated year 12 in 2007.

Miles has begun his traineeship with AFL as a youth development officer, while continuing his dream to play professionally.

Both students have worked hard and been well supported by family to achieve their successful transitions to work and further study.

During 2009, 5 students from Aurukun will complete year 12.

There are currently 46 students attending boarding schools across Queensland - working extremely hard with the support of their families at home in Aurukun.

Well done, to all students and families.
